Use it to read or build Base64 strings and URL-encoded values, for example in API requests, basic-auth headers or query strings.

Examples

  • Decode a Base64 value from a Kubernetes Secret to check what it contains.

Common mistakes

  • Treating Base64 as encryption; anyone can decode it.
  • Encoding a whole URL when only one parameter value should be encoded.
